Hello Rick, I actually just had this alarm put in my vehicle its very easy to use the best buy installers will program the main unit and they will show you how to use the key fob its very simple it comes with a LED light that lets you know that the system is armed it also has a feature that if your car gets broken into while the alarm is going off it wont let the vehicle start unless you disarm it it also has impact sensors so if someone hits your vehicle depending on the sensitivity it will go off viper is one of the best car alarms on the market and for the price its very worth it and there universal they will work for all types of vehicles but have a professional install it i hope this info helps

Make sure you are getting both. I purchased both but only got the alarm installed, which works good. More equipment was needed for the auto lock. The guy that installed the alarm gave me a list of what is needed for the auto door lock and cost when I go back to purchase. I plan on going back after the holidays and have auto lock installed they do good work.
