No. WiFi or direct connection (box, stick, antenna) are all you need.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you want a remotely-usable experience, you don't want to use any of the TV's native features. The firmware has become so bloated that the TV can take minutes to boot, and several seconds to respond to the most basic commands from the remote (like a volume up/down). Once you get it playing a feed from an external device like a cable box or TiVo, you can use commands to THAT device to control the video feed just fine... But the TV's native code has been bloated to the point of uselessness.
