Hello Carly, The quantum in the name refers to our Quantum Color technology that expands the color gamut, giving true to live, vivid colors. Local Dimming Zones are a technology that gives better black levels and more accurate contrast. This is achieved by adjusting the brightness of the backlight in individually controlled zones, called Local Dimming Zones.

Please try again later.Quantum color is a method of stating that the television is theoretically capable of display more than the standard 16 million colors that we have come to know as full color on TV's and monitors. According to Vizio, billions of color variants. Local dimming zones is a feature only available of FULL ARRAY LED TV's and monitors. What does Full Array mean? It means that rather than having strips of lighting around the perimeter of the TV, the entire field is lit by LED lights.
