How is the automatic light sensor (ALS) on this TV when watching with the lights very low? My eyes are very light sensitive and I like to watch movies, etc with the lights very dimmed and don't want the TV to get overly bright.

Hey Mike, hopefully this helps.

There are three settings, and they do vary greatly on how much independence the ALS has in dictating your brightness.

That works extremely well and can be finer tuned via a pretty deep picture settings menu built in ( the most robust I’ve seen in this price range) 

That being said, it does get painfully bright during hdr content if set to proper calibration settings.

This is a very bright tv but you can dampen the vibrancy thru picture control modes and color temperature options
