Yes, the tablet will Cast 4k content. Casting is only controlled by the tablet, the actual video signal is coming to the unit through its network interface. You can use any tablet and the Vizio app to Cast 4k. Technically, yes, it is HDR and Dolby Vision. But, it is HDR 8 not 10. Honestly, it will be years before 4k and HDR/DV really matter. There are only about a dozen movies etc. out there right now in 4k. Think of 4k as what happened with Blu-ray. Redbox still warns you that you've chosen Blu-ray. After all these years, it is just barely reaching saturation in the market.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tablet is not the source of the stream. it is just a gateway. with the August update it has both hdr 10 and Dolby 4k. Other tv's only have one or the other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tablet does stream 4K content. It uses both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It defaults to DV as that's the better looking tech but will broadcast in HDR10 if DV is not available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will stream 4k from the included remote. And using HDMI 5 for gaming it does use HDR10.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the title is provided from the streaming service in 4K, then it can be CAST to the home theater display as such. We are rolling out the HDR10 update to the 2016 M & P SmartCast models. Thanks! -Randal
