Unfortunately, I think that is a general "M Series" answer for most models... But this model appears to not have that feature. As you can see in the "Tech Specs" profile on that website, there is no dimming zones listed. And you'd think it may just be an oversight, but when you compare it to other more expensive M Series models, they do show local dimming zones. Thanks for posting the website though! That was very helpful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I found this link for Vizio with the mode number: https://www.vizio.com/m706xh3.html?___store=default There are 12 zones mentioned here. The shopping link there leads to this product. Curiously, I have found that the link another respondent references does not mention the zones, rather has a blank spot in the “tech specs”.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.16 zones. Source: https://www.vizio.com/en/tv/m-series/M706x-H3 Under "Quantum Color", "Active Full Array Backlight" subheading (click the "X" on that feature, it is clearly listed.) Rtings says the effect is mediocre and that zones are somewhat slow to transition, but what do I know. I'm coming from a black friday hisense 70" that died after 2 months. This set is infinitely better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Per VIZIO Support, 0 dimming zones... I guess it may be one if anything (frame dimming). Note, one of the selling points of the M-series is local dimming. This does not have local dimming and most the features of this unit are more like the v-series. Compare this model to V705-H that sells for $475.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So there are two versions of this. One is a Quantum Series with 12 local dimming zones. One is just an M series (not Quantum). Confirmed with Visio. Best buy is advertising this as an M Quantum but it really isn't. The 70" Quantum retails for $899, not $799. Not sure why they charge more for a stripped down version vs the 65". Would be much better if they truly offered a 70" Quantum. The reviews on the M Quantum with local dimming are very good. So a good deal at the 65" price point. Unfortunately not offered larger than 65" with local dimming.
