The clippers are powered by a rechargeable Lithium battery. The trimmer is powered by standard batteries, the small trimmer is not rechargeable unless you do as I do and use rechargeable batteries.

Yes the small one takes double AA batteries

Smaller trimmer requires AA batteries and it's NOT rechargeable.

Hair trimmer is rechargeable. Smaller beard trimmer takes two AA batteries.
