“I ordered the wrong one. Personallnally i can' t get back to store when I receive it....I am elderly and disabled.... I had thought about staining it to match my oak antiques...I am curious what type of wood is it and would it respond well to staining .”

No, I absolutely would not recommend staining this piece, it is not a solid wood.
