It would work with any computer, but for a laptop, you would have to buy a case for it to hook it up externally. There are much more "portable" options for laptop computers. However, if you are using the laptop like you would a desktop; i.e., stationary on a desk or table, I would see no reason why a hard drive like this would be an excellent way to expand the capacity of a laptop.
