Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Almost certainly. According to the XPS15 L521X Owner's Manual downloaded from Dell's website: a SATA 2.5" HDD is specified or a 2.5" SATA SSD (Solid State Drive) may may be installed instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not that familiar with the Dells. I would pull the old one out and make sure it is a 2.5 inch SATA drive.

An easy way to find out is to download a small free program called Crystal Disk Info and then execute it. The program will identify the interface for your internal harddrive in a data block right under the device identification which is in large capital letters and numbers. If the interface is 'serial ATA', then this drive will fit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I have used this drive with that laptop.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a 2.5" form-factor hard drive, and is intended as a replacement for any laptop using this physical size. You should have no problems.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This would be a very acceptable replacement for the original 1TB drive in the Dell XPS15, but that computer is designed for performance, and there are faster drive choices. My favorite choice for this model would be the HGST Travelstar 7K1000 1TB 7200RPM drive. It's proven extremely reliable, and is faster than the WD Mainstream, which spins at 5400RPM. You can also find the HGST at Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hgst-travelstar-7k1000-1tb-internal-sata-hard-drive-for-laptops-oem-bare-drive-black-silver/1578022.p?id=1219502527365&skuId=1578022
