• It may work but would not necessarily be correct as based on your description you have a desktop PC unit and this HDD is for a Laptop.

• Yes as long as your old hard drive are the same diameter. If you don't have a way to transfer all your apps and data to your new drive but there clone kit . It comes with a USB connection to plug the new drive in your computer, also comes with a disk to do it all. That way you can store your old hard drive for back up and your new one should be a plug and go.
