• Hi Marlene, WD EasyStore Portable is a Plug 'n' Play USB 3.0 ready and USB 2.0 compatible drive; Comes with USB 3.0 Type-A interface. Please know, the schedule of backup data does not depend on the hard drive. It depends on the software application. Although yes, you can take manual backups as well as automatic ones.
