A:AnswerTypically, no. If you're using a Mac, then Time Machine will make it super easy for you to do that, but would require setup. Or find a compatible Windows alternative. But both would need to be setup to automatically backup when you mount the device (connect the device). But all of this can be done, pretty easy, just search on YouTube, find a instructor you like, keep those backups..... well.... backed up.

It is best your WD Easystore to be re-formatted in macOS Extended (Journaled) file format, to be compatible with Time Machine or exFAT to be read/write ready on both Windows and macOS.

You can copy the seagate's data on your PC and then copy that data from your PC to this WD EasyStore drive. You can follow the instructions given in the link to transfer the data with high speed.
The total amount of data on a disk and the relative size of each file can cause poor transfer performance. A large number of files located in a single directory will transfer faster than the same number of files spread across multiple directories. 1 TB of large files will transfer much faster than 1 TB of small files. Omitting directories such as C:\WINDOWS and C:\Program Files can result in faster transfer.
