I'd use an external hard drive. Flash drives are more fragile, can get lost, etc. You might also try something in the cloud...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you need portability, use a flash drive. If not, use an external hard drive. They typically have more bang for your buck and are much quicker at transferring data! Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have stored my pictures, documents, and music on an external hard drive very similar to this one for several years. The hard drive works great. I feel that it is more likely to keep my pictures and music safely. I handle the hard drive with care. I would not want to drop it or a flash drive.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The big thing is how much space you need or will need and the physical environment that the flash drive or external hard drive will be exposed to. Flash drives are tougher, but can't hold as much, External hard drives are weaker but can hold tons of information. The external hard drive has a disk that spins inside of it and if that disk fails, it is very hard to recover your information. I use my external hard drive between my work and home computer, I need the space. In the past. I have had flash drives fail on me and dropbox drop files, and I yet to have an issue with an external hard drive, but the external hard drive is also handled with kit gloves and I keep a backup as well.
