Help preserve your memories when you're on the go with the easystore External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive with plug-and-play USB connectivity and WD Backup software. The backup software allows scheduling of regular automatic file transfers, and WD Discovery software makes it convenient to manage drive settings, including formatting and LED control. USB 3.0 connectivity, offers fast transfer speeds.
A: The easystore line is a BestBuy only hard drive with missing features (you cannot set a password or encrypt the drive) and a reduced warranty when compared to the WD MyPassport line. Otherwise it's a WD manufactured hard drive that offers great transfer speeds. Because the easystore has fewer features, it is generally cheaper. In this case, because the MyPassport drive is cheaper, I'd recommend that drive over the easystore. Check this thread https://community.wd.com/t/my-book-passport-vs-easystore/203207/5
Q: Can this store pictures and music from an apple device and the other kind?
A: It wouldn't be able to connect up to an iPad or iPhone, but it would be able to be connected to a Mac or Windows based computer. Once connected, you could store pictures and music on it.
Q: Rpm of drive 7200 or 5400 ?? Thanks
A: This is a 7200 RPM drive.
A: I bought this for my Xbox One S, it will work well for your Xbox One. Just plug it in to the USB in the back of your console, set it up as storage and you can download a lot more games. You can utilize this to expand your Xbox one storage beyond the basic 500GB.
Q: What is the difference between 3.0 USB and 2.0 USB
A: Transfer rates: USB 2.0 offers transfer rates of 480 Mbps, and USB 3.0 offers transfer rates of 4.8 Gbps — 10 times faster. Addition of another physical bus: The amount of wires was doubled, from 4 to 8. Additional wires required more space in both the cables and connectors, so new types of connectors were designed. Power consumption: USB 2.0 provides up to 500 mA whereas USB 3.0 provides up to 900 mA. The USB 3 devices provide more power when needed and conserve power when the device is connected but idling. More bandwidth: Instead of one-way communication, USB 3.0 uses two unidirectional data paths, one to receive data and the other to transmit while USB 2.0 can only handle only one direction of data at any time. Improved bus utilization: A new feature was added (using packets NRDY and ERDY) to let a device asynchronously notify the host of its readiness.
A: You are correct. The USB cable provides both power and data transfer for this device. No separate power hookup/cable is used or needed.
Q: Is this compatible with MAC computers?
A: Features suggest: Compatible with Mac and PC For flexible installation options.
