• No. You will have to use iTunes or some other application on a PC to back it up. Even if the drive were network-enabled I’m not aware of any backup program that runs solely on the iPhone other than the iCloud backup.

• You need an external drive that connects directly to your phone. Otherwise you need to interface with your iMAC.
