“I just bought this and every time I plug it in to my USB to USB-C hub, it makes a beeping sound. Is that normal? I don't know if I received a defective product and switch it out for a new one or if that's normal.”

No it is not. If you plug direct to USB on your PC... does it beep? If yes, I would have Best Buy replace your this external. If no, then you have an issue with your HUB. Good luck.
