Your blu ray player does not run an operating system, like windows 10, so it can't run the WD drive. You can plug in your WB 5TB to your laptop/PC and connect to your TV via a HDMI cable. You don't need to use the blu ray player. The movies/music or other media can be played using VLC Media player or other such program on your PC and shown on your TV using HDMI connection. The WD 5TB will not work connected directly to the TV or Blu Ray.
