There should have been an adapter cable in the package. Contact you local Best Buy and insist that they provide one.

All of the WD - Easystore drives I have purchased came with a cable.

Yes, it should have come with a USB cable. It does not come with nor does it require a Power Adapter for operation.

Would highly recommend contacting customer support. Your external absolutely should have a cable. I would start with BestBuy and then go to WD if directed to do so.
