“I am trying to password protect the drive I just purchased. The security app does not detect the drive. Other sites say that this model (WD Easystore Portable WDBKUZ) is not supported by the security app that comes with it. Is that true?”

The easystore is a Best Buy exclusive brand and does not come with password protection. If you are using Windows, you can use BitLocker to encrypt your drive.
