• The light on mine stays on or is blinking as long as its connected to a compute rand the computer power is on.

• Hi. Using any usb power storage drive. The light is telling you power is going to the unit. Depending what OS you are using will let you know its done. If you have windows, use the safe disconnect icon to remove from the pc. It will tell you if your system is using the drive.
