It would work fine but if you'll be doing a high volume of those writes the purple is better suited.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.people seem to think hard drives are built for only one particular task. Any drive will work for this. I have 5 cameras backing up to 12 of these in RAIDZ2, along with media and image backups, system backups, and VM storage. They all work fine.
