If you want the drive to work with both Windows and Mac devices, then you will want to reformat it to ExFat. It isn't a overly popular format, but it is recognized by both Windows and Mac operating systems, so you should be able to use the drive with both. The only thing I cannot confirm is whether or not the ExFat format is compatible with your television. That depends entirely on your t.v., so you'll need to do some research as well. That being said, these large external drives really are not intended to be moved around a lot, so if you want something with greater mobility, I would recommend getting a 4TB portable drive and formatting it accordingly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use with both PC and Mac if it is "partitioned" correctly..You want to use "xfat" to format. Go on line and type in the question you have and it will give you the step by step procedure for doing this, and two different ways to "partition"!!
