When you say - backup continuously- are you referring to a Time Machine backup ? Then you would have to go into time machine and assign the Easystore drive as the time machine backup. When you do that, everytime you turn on your computer with the Easystore plugged into one of the USB ports, it will automatically start backing up your system. Just for my own piece of mind, I don’t keep my external hard drives attached. I usually power my laptop up first, then plug in my externals. Then when powering off for the day, I eject all ext drives first before a full power down.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When I did attach the WD easystore to my computer, I did have a tech person to help me. The directions were easy to follow. However, if the directions use too many technical words that I have never heard of, it can be frustrating. As the directions popped up on my computer screen, I would ask the tech person "What does that mean?" because this is a new piece of technology for me. At the end, this tech person told me he could of purchased a cheaper one with less memory. I told him that I bought it on sale, and by the time I put everything from the various flash drives on it, I needed this amount of memory.
