“I have an IPhone 6S. I want to simply save my pictures and videos to an external hard drive. Am I able to with this drive? Will I need to buy any accessories? I don’t want save all of these pics and videos on my computer. Please help! Thank you so much!”

You can't connect your iPhone directly to the drive, but you transfer your photos and videos to your computer and then to this drive.

Depending on your operating system, this could be accomplished very easily or with work arounds. However, this drive is a bit large for what you're looking to do. You may only need 1TB or something smaller than this. 8TB is really for handling large volumes of high quality videos that are way larger than what you take on an iPhone regardless of the model.
