You should look into Western Digital's network connected drives. They may be better suited to what you are trying to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's not so much that you program it for streaming. It has no capability to stream. It is not a MyCloud. It only stores data. You download to the drive via your computer and plug it in to your TV if your TV supports files on external USB drives.

Please try again later.dependent on your tv of course, this 4tb hard drive is perfect for movie storage. unfortunately tho, most tvs dont support usb storage over 2tb due their software structure (i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit). i own a 55" lg 3D smart tv (55lm6700) and it only reads/supports up to 2tb. i purchased this wd 4tb drive and the wd 2tb drive, but was only able to use the 2tb.
