This drive is 5400 rpm, hence the low cost. You will not find a large capacity 7200 rpm HD for this price right now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well this question has been around for months. I ran benchmark on mine, expect it is 5400 rpm due to latency values. I expect there is no fixed answer to this. Normally when they mount these types of "products", manufacturing will supply what ever drive they have available. You could buy 2, one 5400, 7200 for example. For this drive, and connection type (not a SATA 3 for example internal to your computer) it is not intended to be a gammer´s drive, but only for backup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's actually rated at 7200, however in a couple of different drive tests I tried, it's more like 5900 (average). I haven't complained since the storage capacity is was after and I don't use it as a working drive.
