I have a MacBook Pro and my hard drive works fine on it. I did initially have it plugged into a standard computer but everything was easy set up.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to go to the manufacturers website and ask that questions. I know my Macbook Pro recognizes a PC formatted external drive but I believe that is OS and device specific. Look it up on the MAC website too. It should be very easy for you to get the answer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These drives, when formatted as exFAT, will be compatible with Mac. My observation is that the drives that I have purchased since 2015-December have come with a default format of exFAT. I have purchased "Windows-compatible" drives, and I have no experience with "formatted for Mac" drives. So I strongly suspect that this drive will be Mac-compatible without your having to format it, since it is likely to have a default format of exFAT.
