• Hi  Buck, The WD My Passport external drive can be used as gaming drive. The hard drive comes pre-formatted for Windows computer, reformatting might be required to make it works as gaming drive. • It will work just like a flash drive for smaller backups or files. It is the speed and size that are different and allow you to backup yur computer system if yoou have abackup system other than Windows 10 or 11.

• Yes. The games you download will stay on your system storage but you can move the games to the hard drive if you want to free up space on the system.
