Same thing happened to me I am sure you looked it up but it is the cord which is a USB 3.0 and go to the actual Best Buy store and ask around for it.

It was a bit more complicated than I wanted to deal with myself, so I had the Geek Squad help out. If it isn't broken...I found an article that might help with the WD external drive.
