• Yes you can. I have done this and it's a very smooth process. No programs or updates are required to be installed in order to use this external hard drive between PC and Mac.

• Yes you can. I just did this when my wife's Windows 10 laptop because painfully slow. We backed up all her documents onto this external drive. Then upload them on her new Mac laptop.

• They have seperate one for each operating system. So I don't really think you can.
