Taking 14secs. FORMATTING this external hard drive to 'FAT32' and then spending an additional 3mins. CLICK-N-DRAGGING 125GB of .mp3 files to the drive (usually auto-assigns itself to K:) with the 3.0USB cable (that COMES WITH IT!) and I got ALL my music to compatibly play through my truck's CD deck, and my entertainment center's audio receiver through the USB slot. NO MORE LUGGING AROUND 100'S OF CDs! Enough said. Also, you could back-up your ENTIRE computer if you fancy a COMPLETE motherboard restore in the future! (1 last thing!): WARNING WARNING!!!!!:: Be RIDICULOUSLY careful handling/transporting these around! For REAL, listen to me. Accidentally dropped my last one out of my hoodie front pocket on the RUGGED floor from only 3ft. above ground and it cracked the internal disc making it useless and me frustrated/bewildered/$50 poorer to get a new one!

I use this product to back up my macbook pro. It fits easily in my travelbag. Easy plug and play and setup is simple. For someone on the go and needs somthing that is small, compact and that fits in a pocket easily this is for you. Western digital has always made great hard drives.

I purchased this external hard drive for my college student. Due to school, computer games, and various other stuff, my son's hard drive was filling up...and fast! It was easy to set up and transfer the files from the computer to this drive.

I bought a new laptop and needed a way to get my old files off of my old laptop without uploading them into a cloud based service. This external hard drive fit my needs. It was easy to set up and use. Plenty of space for my documents, music, pictures and videos.

I found the installation of the external hard drive very easy, it only took a few minutes. I was backing up to CDs before but that is a huge hassle. I backed up 2 computers in less than one hour on the WD drive. I have purchased other WD Products, and I've never been disappointed, this hard drive is the same, simple, efficient and safe.

This item was recommended by the Geek Squad member who was overseeing the repair of my computer. Based on my needs, he selected what he thought would be the appropriate external drive to save all of my files prior to starting the repair. The item just so happened to be on sale at the time....even better!

Great HD for backing up my work Laptop!! (and a Great Price too) Has not failed one time in the 3-months I have had it and it comes with a password protection software so it will only be accessible from my work laptop.

Purchased the drive to keep safe backup of my family pictures, and important documents separate from my computer. I loaded it up, and wont' be using much except to rescue backup files.

To be clear, if you're looking for a hard drive that has extra features, don't go with this one. The Seagate ones, for the same price, come with 200 GB of OneDrive (or whatever Microsoft is calling it this week) storage, along with some backup software. But for me, when I buy a hard drive, the first thing I do is format it, so any included software gets deleted in the process, I won't use it anyways. So for the price, you can't go wrong with this hard drive. It's reliable (I've had a previous generation one for about 2 years), fast (would love to see an eSATA or USB 3.1 Type C version though), and holds about a terabyte, which is all you'd really want to carry around anyways, anything more is just to risky. So if you're looking for a portable external hard drive, and aren't willing to shell out the cash for the FAR superior (with a price tag to match) portable SSDs, you can't go wrong with this one. (Unless you want OneDrive space, which, to me, is less of a feature and more of a punishment).

My Passport Ultra i TB External Hard drive is so easy to use with the USB 3.0 / 2.0 connection. I am able to back up all my pictures and all my music plus software. And I can use and view my storage any time I need or want to. I compared this product with other external hard drives before I purchased My Passport and none compared better than this product and the price was very competitive and fair. You get what you pay for with this product and then some! I highly recommend the My Passport to anyone wanting an external hard drive.

I have had this item since September and the drive is about to fail. I have been monitoring it with Acronis software and the drive is currently at 17% health. I backing up files before this unit kicks the bucket.

I bought this drive to increase the storage space on my Xbox One. Took me about 5 minutes to install and format, have now been using it for about a month with no problems what so ever. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to increase their storage on their Xbox One!

The newer version is simple to use and it gives me a level of comfort knowing if something were to happen to the hard drive on my laptop, that my info is safe on the external hard drive. It's small and easy to store. Great price for an awesome product.

Really can't go wrong with a WD product.. It's easy to use, small, lightweight, reliable, spacious. I have nothing bad to say about it. It suits me because I don't have a whole lot of digital files so this would take years for me to fill up.

The WB Passport Ultra external USB drive provides a lot of bang (1TB!) for your buck. At $59.99, it' a steal. This backup drive gives me more than enough space to protect my system, personal files and photos. Very easy to use, just plug it in and follow the installation directions. Easypeasy!
