• The best way to do that would be to plug both the iPhone and the hard drive into one computer and transfer pictures that way. That's what I do with my Samsung S5. I don't think it would work to plug the iPhone directly into the hard drive - I don't know how you would open a "File Manager" in order to transfer pictures directly.

• Yes you can, as a graduate of the Ohio Media School in Columbus, i have downloaded pictures from my school files on to my harddrive.
