• It's acts just like any USB drive. As such any files (pictures, movies, documents, etc) can be transferred from one computer to another.

• You shouldn't have any problem transferring pictures from one computer to another no matter what the operating system. Most pictures are taken in either .jpeg, .tif, .gif, .png and .raw, which are pretty universal. Just remember before you use your hard drive to format the drive, it's just a good habit have, and this guy should be able to hold about 2 million photos.
