A:Answer If the drive is recognized by your OS (operating system) it should how up under your My Computer. I'm not running Win 10, and I can't remember how it shows access to the drives it has recognized. The drive comes with a backup software onboard that should install automatically when the drive is connected to your machine the first time. Copying and pasting will move data, but it may not be of any use to move to a new machine. I'd research how to move your data over to your new machine, based on the OS of it and the current machine. You will definitely have to reinstall your programs, it's impossible to simply copy and past or move programs. When they install, they are registered in the operating system, and that info will be different in your new machine.
