If it is a newer SMART TV...then yes, it should recognize the drive and very good majority of media files on it such as MP4s,MP3s,jpegs,etc. If your TV is older it still might have a USB slot BUT many times on the older flat screens that is just a service slot for upgrading the TVs software/firmware....no more.
