All Red Plus and Red Pro drives are CMR (as of this writing in Oct. 2021). The Red line is base 5400RPM as SMR, Plus 5400RPM as CMR, and Pro 7200RPM as CMR. In fact, the whole reason the Plus exists is so they can distinguish between the 5400RPM drives in SMR vs CMR. Anyway, so this Red PLUS 4TB is CMR as all Plus drives will be.

Please try again later.According to WD's website, the ones I got are CMR. https://www.westerndigital.com/products/internal-drives/wd-red-plus-sata-3-5-hdd#WD40EFZX The BestBuy part numbers don't quite line up with the WD part numbers, but I was able to pull the model number from my drives and confirm the ones I have are covered by the link above.
