The outside antenna should be placed outside in order to pick up the clearest signal. If you put it inside your attic the roof and other building materials will block the signal.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The exterior antenna should be mounted the higher the better results you'll have. If your house is taller than your neighboring homes you might get fair reception in the attic, but if you really want it to work properly, invest in a 20 foot mast pipe and get it above area roofs. I used a 20 foot top rail pipe for chain link fencing, seems to work ok.
