“This advertises a 2013 version. Why would you sell a 2013 version when the current year is 2016 ? I was hoping to buy here but seems like a waste of money to by a 3 year old version. How does a 2013 version sill have a years worth of coverage ?”

Just go the their website and download it from there. You will get the lastest verison if the disc doesn’t update it automatically. Your key code will work either way

What you get in the box is an activation code which you then use to download the software from the companies website. They are constantly updating their software so it is always current.

To me, it doesn't matter how old Webroot is. The software will update itself and get it to the latest version. You won't notice a thing. It just does it. Call it self-smart. Call it genius. But that's what Webroot does. The only hitch is this: as long as the software has not been tampered with, I think it will work. Worth a try. Hope that helps.

ctmalo2016, I am unsure what you are referring to. Even the 2013 version of Webroot will update to the newest build available once installed. It is important to note that Best Buy activates at purchase so if you have received this in the past, please reach out to Best Buy for future assistance.
