I always get an email when the subscription is about to expire.  Usually a month ahead of time.  It gives you instructions on how to update credit card information if needed.  Otherwise they will just bill the credit card on file on the date of expiration.  Very simple.

Yes, all you’re doing is renewing your licensing to continue using the software. Webroot updates in the back ground. You can check on your updates by accessing the Webroot app either on your phone or computer etc.
