Dear Customer: Currently all of our over the range microwaves require the use of a charcoal filter, although the part number for the filter will vary depending on the microwave model. This microwave, model WMH1163XVQ, will use the charcoal filter part number 8206230A. Thank you for your interest in a Whirlpool microwave!
