• The microwave needs to be mounted on a wall with below a cabinet which will support some of the weight.

• You could put it anywhere under a counter, but the fan is designed to draw odors/steam/smoke from anything cooking on your stovetop. If you put it somewhere other than over the stove, the fan really won't be doing you any good.
