“Can this Whirlpool freezer be stored in an unheated detached garage? My husband (since passed) used to buy meat in bulk and stored it in a chest freezer in the garage. It worked like a charm for years. The Insignia freezers can't be stored in a garage.”

Hello KJA! Per the Use and Care Guide: Your freezer operates most efficiently when located in an area where the temperature is normally between 32°F (0°C) and 110°F (43°C). Place your freezer in a location where the temperature will fall between the low and high recommended temperature.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine under my house. The biggest problems I have had with my freezers, living in a very humid environment, condensation collects on the top and tends to rust. I have had the freezer for a week and it is working fine.
