QuestionI understand the freezer is 32" deep. Does it have a removelable handle and if so, is the depth less than 32" with handle removed?

- Answer The freezer has been delivered. I can actually answer my own question to help others know if it will fit thru a 32" door way. The answer is YES. The freezer chassis is only 27" deep. The hinges on the back side are removable, however the manual says if you must remove them, contact tech support. If you remove the hinges, (lid), they are concerned about the seal. The hinges add 1 3/4" to the depth. The front handle also appears to be removable, but I did not confirm it because was it not necessary. The front handle assembly and lock add another 1 5/8" to the total depth. Chassis (27"), hinges (1 3/4") and handle (1 5/8") total 30 3/8. I double checked the inside measurements to make sure I had a 14 plus cubic foot freezer I do. I did not subtract for the small housing inside the cavity of the freezer that holds shields the inside from the compressor, but it would still be right around 14 cubic feet. I hope this helps anyone else shopping for this freezer. The advertised dimensions are misleading.

QuestionCan this Whirlpool freezer be stored in an unheated detached garage? My husband (since passed) used to buy meat in bulk and stored it in a chest freezer in the garage. It worked like a charm for years. The Insignia freezers can't be stored in a garage.

- Answer Hello KJA! Per the Use and Care Guide: Your freezer operates most efficiently when located in an area where the temperature is normally between 32°F (0°C) and 110°F (43°C). Place your freezer in a location where the temperature will fall between the low and high recommended temperature.

- Answer Mine came with a cord. My totally non-tech savvy wife found a powerstrip and moved the freezer from where I had it, utilizing a different plug. But, it definitely had a cord.

QuestionWhere are the vents located? How far from the wall would I need to allow breathing space for this chest freezer? I have a narrow utility room to stored my chest freezer in and the current freezer is only 28 inches depth from the wall with a 3 inch space.

- Answer Hello DaisymaeSD. The Freezer model WZC3115DW location requirements state the following: Allow at least a 3" (7.5 cm) clearance on both sides of the freezer and 2" (5 cm) between the back of the freezer and the wall. Leave room above the freezer to open the lid. We hope this is helpful!

QuestionDoes Whirlpool make Maytag, and is this freezer the same as the Maytag model # MZC31T15DW?

- Answer Hello maybuyit. Maytag is part of the Whirlpool corporation. Model MZC31T15DW is not the same model as WZC3115DW. Model MZC31T15DW comes with a 1 year limited warranty and a 10 year limited warranty on the compressor while model WZC3115DW has a 1 year limited warranty only. Model MZC31T15DW has a built in drain while model WZC3115DW has a defrost drain with a hose adapter. We hope this helps!
