How does this dishwasher vent steam? There is a vent on the upper left side of the door, but I dont know for sure if this is a steam exhaust vent. I heard some recent Whirlpool models have no exhaust vent, causing steam to escape into cabinet. null

Apparently, this particular model does NOT vent through the drain hose. The vent on the upper left side door is precisely that...a vent for the steam. I asked Whirlpool if the unit vented through the drain hose then what is the purpose of the vent on the door. They replied that it doesn't vent through the hose, but through the door and sent apologizes for the confusion.

Hi Wallyuwl, our new Dishwashers have a hose that vents steam to the drain and not to the exterior of the unit. We hope this helps!
