Can just the door handles be removed to fit through a doorway for installation vs removing the doors themselves? And if so, what tool is required to remove just the handles? null

Yes. The door handles do come off. We had to have ours removed to get it through our door and then put back on.

Yes the door handles can be removed. They installed the handles after moving the refrigerator into the kitchen. Not sure what tool they used. Perhaps call customer service. The delivery men setting it up had the tools they needed.

I had to have both doors removed to fit into my doorway. It requires one bolt being screwed down on each top corner. Best Buy installers did it easily. Just make sure you use the plastic spacer that comes in the bag to measure the distance between each door when they put the doors back on. This will make sure of a perfect fit. Side by side Whirlpool is a awesome refrigerator. We love it!
