“Is it necessary to purchase a 3-year protection plan ? If yes, should we go with Whirlpool or Best Buy plan?”

• In my opinion, it is an absolute to purchase a 3-Year protection plan. The technology is so advanced no a days, if something does break which I hope it doesn't we could never fix the issue ourselves. I choose the 3 year Best Buy Plan, I have had nothing but positive results from working with the Best Buy "Geek Squad". Also when we purchased our Whirlpool Refrigerator we weren't aware of the Whirlpool option. That being said, I still would have chosen the Best Buy support plan.

• We purchased the Best Buy 3 year plan just to be on the safe side. Whirlpool only offer a one year warranty which was very surprising to us on such a large purchase.
