A:AnswerI'm not sure about removal, but the ice maker does have an off switch. It also doesn't take up much room. We turned it off and never bothered with connecting the water line.
A:AnswerBest Buy hooked me up with the standard hose used for Refrigerator water lines. The 5 or 6 foot length should be just fine as you satated that you had a source already located behind the unit, as do I.

A:AnswerThe simple answer is "NO". I don't think any of the brushed stainless models are fingerprint resistant. At least none of mine are fingerprint resistant.
