One is air intake , the other is exhaust (heat/air vent).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The purpose of the dual hose to 1) intake air from outside and cool the coils, and 2) exhaust heat from unit back to the outside. Inside air is filtered through and cooled from the unit. Instead of using inside air to cool the coils, as with a single hose which will exhaust that cooled air as well, the dual hose unit becomes more efficient by NOT expelling the cooled air in the room.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The process of cooling this air generates heat inside the unit, in order to cool the unit, the second hose intakes air from the outside which is used to cool the unit's compressor and condenser coils.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The dual hose eliminates the negative air pressure, helps the machine operate a lot more quicker than a single hose and does not have to work as hard as a single hose system.
