It is a ok ac unit I had it in my room that is 17 by 17 it keeps it cool but not cold as it should. It has been on for 3 hours starting temp was 82 degrees now after 3 hours it is only 74 degrees. It should do better then this.

Overall, a very good portable air conditioner

For the most part, I have been pleased with the functionality and operation of the 450 Sq. Ft. Portable Air Conditioner. The cooling ability is very good for a room of this size and the unit is relatively quiet compared to most other portable air conditioners. This is particularly important if you plan to use the unit in a bedroom when trying to sleep. Most other a/c's of this type are way too noisy for this purpose and can keep you awake. The main downside that I can see so far is when the cooling fan or condensor stops running, there is a relatively loud, abrupt braking sound when this stops which almost sounds like something is going to break due to the abrupt shutoff noise. Time will tell if this sound is a result of inferior quality with the motor or condenser as we have only used the unit for a couple months so far (but have ran the unit almost non-stop for several weeks during this period when the weather became unbearably hot and smokey from bad forest fires in the northwest U.S. during July and August.

I wish I had purchased this a week before I decided to become an owner of a portable AC unit. This unit cools my 390sq ft living room with ease, paired with a large 3 speed stand-alone fan, the adjacent rooms feel the coolness as well. I plan on purchasing another uni, with a lower SQ rating as to have for the master bedroom. Easy to install, move and drain when the time calls for it. Not too loud, not too big, not ugly and I would purchase this unit again.

    Great portable AC

I ordered this portable AC after doing some research for about a week. I decided on the Whirlpool because of the name and it came with dual venting. All I can say is I have no idea how I was dealing with the heat and humidity of my apartment before! What a huge difference this thing makes. I placed it in my open living room/kitchen, and have a small oscillating fan (had it for several years) blowing the air into my bedroom. I have had to turn the AC down as it gets pretty cool at night. For me, this was a perfect buy. I have only had it a week, so I am only leaving 4 stars for now, but its definitely worth the money.

This was an overall good buy- easy to install and easy to operate. Cools adequately, not freezing but then again it’s a 450sqft unit being used in a 750sqft room so I can’t fault it for that. My only issue (and why I didn’t give it 5 stars) is because it lacks an option to have it blow cool air all the time. Once it reaches the desired temp it abruptly switches to just blowing temperate air, and at nighttime those abrupt changes can get pretty loud. We have another unit with an “energy saver” and “regular” setting, seems like this one is on permanent “energy saver”. Other than that, it was a good buy.

I bought this to provide A/C to our bedroom during a power outage by use of our Gasoline generator. It is very quiet and provide a very cool air flow. The double vent pipes make it efficient and more than capable of cooling out 15 X 25 foor bedroom. Whirlpool has 28,000 employees in the USA.

Works fast and quietly. Easy to set up. Get the geek squad coverage and clean the filter at least monthly.

Works as it should. Cools a large open area and keeps the humidity in check.
